RentMen:
How do you go the 'Extra Mile' in your life?
JakeGiordano:
I go the extra mile when it comes to anything dealing with numbers. I’ve always had a fascination with numbers and math since I was a kid; so while most of my friends are breaking out their phone calculators to figure out tips for bartenders/servers/etc., I typically just do the math in my head in the same amount of time.
RentMen:
What distinguishes you from all the other people you know?
JakeGiordano:
I tend to go with the flow on a lot, but I stand out in this field because of my level of personability. I get along with people of all types, from hundreds of backgrounds and upbringings—I spend time getting to know what makes people tick, and I know very few others who are willing to spend that time with someone on that level.
RentMen:
Tell us a little about yourself, if you were to pick something what would you like others to absolutely know about you?
JakeGiordano:
I’m a trivia nerd. My brain is very spongelike, and while I don’t know everything, I definitely know a little bit about a lot of stuff.
RentMen:
Tell us about the best experience you have had in life.
JakeGiordano:
I think the best experience I’ve had in my life was taking home a national championship title for an informative speech I wrote in college. I put so much thought and time and work into that speech, and it was almost shocking to get rewarded in that capacity. I wasn’t allowed to fail growing up, so getting A’s and B’s all throughout my academic career was commonplace—never rewarded because it was expected. Having my peers and professors from across the country tell me that my words had a real impact on how they perceive such a minor piece of technology like a body camera (I believe the product was called Memoto) really validated all the sweat and tears I put into crafting that 10-minute speech. I still can’t believe I actually won that competition...I’m smiling just thinking about it.
